Welcome Students and Teachers from Confucius Institute for Northern Ireland at Ulster University

On March 7, 2024, a delegation consisting of 27 students and teachers fromCarrickfergus Academy and Belfast High School, in Confucius Institute for Northern Ireland at Ulster University came to Hubei Normal University for learning and communication. The leaders, such as, the Vice President Yu Xiang, the Director of the International Exchange Department Jiang Guo, who was also the host, attended the welcome ceremony.


The Vice President, Professor Yu Xiang, on behalf our university, expressed the warmest welcome to the delegation at the ceremony. Besides, he introduced the basic situation of our university, and reviewed the cooperation experiences between foreign universities and other educational institutes and our university over the past years. Then he said that the visit of the delegation will effectively promote the in-depth cooperation between Ulster University and Hubei Normal University.

Ms. Katrina Rodgers, a teacher from Carrickfergus Academy, on behalf of the delegation, expressed the gratitude for the welcome ceremony sincerely. She said that this trip to China provided them a wealth of opportunities for learning Chinese culture and society, and enjoying the beautiful scenery of China.


The student representative, Jovial Vincent Gigy, from Belfast High School, said that it was a great honor to be invited to come to China for learning. He was interested in Chinese culture very much, and was expectant to the courses, such as Mandarin, Paper cutting, Martial Arts, and Chinese Calligraphy, set up by Hubei Normal University. Other students from the delegation also introduced themselves one by one, and expressed their expectation and joy for the coming activities, saying that the Confucius Institute for Northern Ireland at Ulster Univeristy, provided them a good platform to learn Mandarin, know more about China, and that helps a lot!
