On February 2, 2024，which was the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year “Xiao Nian, our university organized a Spring Festival cultural experience activity for the international students. President Lei Rujin, officials from the Party administration Office, teachers from International Exchange Department and College of Fine Arts, and all international students participated in the activity.

President Lei Rujin communicated with the international students, inquired about their life and studies at the university, and expressed his warm blessing for them. He encouraged them to immerse themselves in the “Chinese Year” and embrace “Chinese fortune” with love. The international students said that they will appreciate the valuable opportunity to study in China, pledge to study diligently. They also sent their best wishes to the university, hoping that our university will develop better, and hope China will be thriving and prosperous. Then, the teachers and students from the International Education College, along with teachers from the College of Fine Arts, engaged in the traditional activities such as hanging lanterns, doing paper-cutting, writing the Chinese character “Fu”(“Happiness”), composing Spring Festival couplets, and painting plum blossoms. Besides, they also made and cooked dumplings together, discussing Chinese New Year customs.

President Lei Rujin shared three hopes for all international students. Firstly, study hard, especially work hard in their majors and Chinese learning, making progress every day and improving themselves. Secondly, try to become a good cross-cultural exchanger, sharing China’s story with their compatriots. Thirdly, pay special attention to safety. Be cautious of traffic, personal, and property safety outside, pay attention to the safety of water and electricity on campus. Finally, President Lei Rujin wish all the international students enjoy a secure, healthy, and harmonious Chinese New Year.
