From 8 April to 12 April 2024, the Confucius Institute for Northern Ireland at Ulster University, UK (CINIUU) held a Chinese Cultural Activity Week at six teaching sites including Tattygar Primary School, Derrygonnelly Primary School, Lereto Grammar School, Lack Primary School, St Mary's Primary School and Mc Clintock Primary School. The activity is divided into two parts: Chinese art performance and manual art workshop, involving water-sleeve performance, Sichuan Opera Face Changing, Beijing Opera performance, Guzheng performance, dulcimer performance; Hand-made dragon, painted face, blowing ink plum blossom, etc. About 500 teachers and students from different schools and CINIUU participated in the activity.

In the activity, every teacher went all out to use their own solid basic skills, exquisite skills, patient explanation, and ingenious Q&A session, as well as the on-site teaching display and interaction, so that every teacher and student presented sincerely was deeply impressed. In the process of immersive experience, the elegance of the guzheng performance made the children deeply touched internally, the exquisite skills of the flower gun also made the children greatly shocked, and the charm of the cloud sleeve made everyone completely indulge in it. In the meantime, the children had a fun game about lucky numbers, basic daily communication, the zodiac, and other elements in Chinese culture, and happily won their own small gifts.

Then came the long-awaited workshop session, where the teachers took out the long-awaited handmade dragon material package and showed it to everyone, patiently elaborated on its cultural connotation and how-to-do, and sincerely encouraged and helped each child in need. The children also listened carefully, and although some children encountered difficulties, they were not discouraged, and earnestly completed the relevant steps with the help of the teacher, leaving precious memories. The vivid dragon is also proof of the joint efforts of teachers and students, and it is also a smart proof of cultural transmission.
