Brief Introduction of Physics and Electronic Science College

The College of Physics and Electronic Science was established in 1975, with a history of more than 40 years. It is one of the oldest colleges in Hubei Normal University. At present, the majors of Physics and Electronic Information Engineering have been approved as provincial first-class professional construction sites, and more than 6,000 people have been trained for basic education, national scientific research and other fields in Hubei Province.

 

At present, there are 58 full-time teachers in the college, including 12 professors, 17 associate professors and 38 doctors. Among the full-time teachers, there are 35 tutors for master students; There are 7 young teachers under the age of 35, 31 young and middle-aged teachers (under the age of 45) with doctoral degrees and 10 with master's degrees; Doctoral and master's degrees account for 100% of the total number of young teachers. In the past five years, 18 new teachers and 3 external teachers have been added.

 

In recent five years, more than 30 scientific research projects have been obtained. There are 10 national natural science funds and 6 provincial and ministerial projects with a total fund of more than 10 million yuan. Published more than 70 papers included in SCI. More than 30 national patents have been authorized.

 

The first-class discipline of optical engineering is built and developed on the basis of optical two disciplines. In 1998, the research direction of this subject was listed as the advantages and characteristics of colleges and universities in Hubei Province. In 2002, he was approved by Hubei Province to set up the post of Chutian Scholar distinguished professor; In 2003 and 2020, he won the outstanding young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovation team in Hubei universities respectively; In 2006, optics was awarded as a key discipline in Hubei Province. In 2010, the discipline of optical engineering was approved by the Hubei provincial government as a first-class key (cultivation) discipline in Hubei province; In 2011, the school was granted the right to grant a master's degree in optical engineering, and trained more than 100 graduate students. In 2012, the discipline of optical engineering ranked among the top universities in Hubei Province in the national discipline evaluation.
