Professional advantages:

 

This major is one of the oldest majors in the school, and has passed the second-class certification of national teachers' major. It is a first-class undergraduate major construction site and a brand major in Hubei Province, with two provincial teaching teams and an excellent grassroots teaching organization (Physics Teaching and Research Office) in Hubei Province. This major aims at cultivating normal students' practical ability of scientific and technological innovation and physics teaching skills, and realizes the three-way collaborative cultivation of local, universities and basic education institutions. It is a new training mode of normal students' practical ability of scientific and technological education supported by the curriculum system and expanded by characteristic project activities. The specialty construction has gradually formed the advantages and characteristics of taking discipline construction as the leading factor, focusing on curriculum construction, based on normal schools, facing the society, broadening the foundation, improving the ability and cultivating innovative talents.

There are two main categories: one is the course of physics, and the core courses such as Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Theoretical Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics, Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Optics, Quantum Information, Quantum Computing and Quantum Communication. The other kind is teacher education courses, such as Middle School Physics Teaching Skills Training, Physics Micro-course Design and Production, Middle School Physics Experimental Research, Middle School Physics teaching material analysis and Teaching Design. This major has strong social adaptability. In recent years, the primary employment rate of physics graduates is above 93%. Graduates' employment destinations are mainly graduate schools, provincial, municipal and county key middle schools, government agencies and enterprises and institutions. Among them, the number of employed people (including graduate students) in the education sector accounted for 71.6% of the total number of graduates in 2017, 66.6% in 2018, 79% in 2019 and 71.1% in 2020. The employment direction is in line with the training objectives of physics teachers' majors, and the quality of employment has always been relatively high. Graduates not only have the basic quality to engage in basic scientific research, but also have the practical business ability to engage in high-tech development in the fields of physical detection technology, new energy physical technology and artificial intelligence technology. They are suitable for scientific development, production and management in industries such as science and technology, environmental protection, education and government. After graduation, they can engage in scientific research, teaching, technology and related management in physics or related scientific and technological fields. Another part of the students are admitted to graduate schools for further study.
