1. Professional academic activities. Students must participat in at least 6 academic activities, including academic lectures, conferences, and salons organized by schools, colleges, as well as academic lectures, conferences attended abroad.
2. Assistant teaching. This involves teaching tutoring courses to undergraduate students, correcting assignments, tutoring experiments, and guiding graduation theses.
3. Assistant management. In this part, joining the management work arranged by the college is required, including student assistant, teaching secretary assistant, etc. Detail records and assessments of activities are also needed.
4. Assistant research. Participate in research and teaching projects of your supervisor.
5. Social practice. Conduct social surveys and practical activities in relevant enterprises and institutions during holidays, it is necessary to complete a summary report on social practice activities
6. Discipline contest. Encourage students to participate in various discipline competition activities, including the National College Student Intelligent Vehicle Competition, the Siemens Cup China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge, the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, and the National College Student Electronic Design Competition, etc.
VI. Degree Thesis and Degree Granting
Following steps should be done before finalizing the postgraduate degree thesis.
1. Topic selection and proposal. Students should, under the guidance and in combination of their supervisor’s research direction and field, determine the thesis topic by reading literature, carrying out survey, and communicating and discussing with supervisors, before the end of the first semester and accomplish the dissertation proposal at the end of the second semester or at the beginning of the third semester.
2. Mid-term assessment. When you complete the dissertation proposal, the mid-term assessment should be carried out in two weeks, before the implementation of thesis work. It is usually arranged at the end of the third or the beginning of the fourth semester. Thesis work will not be allowed if you fail to pass the mid-term assessment.
3. Dissertation detection and review. Applicants must submit the dissertation before formal defense, then school will organize the dissertation to be detected and reviewed by rule. This is usually arranged at the beginning of the last semester. Thesis work will not be allowed if you fail to pass the mid-term assessment.
4. Dissertation defense. After the dissertation is reviewed and passed, the defense is organized according to the relevant regulations of the university, which is generally arranged in the middle of May of the graduation year. The time required for the research, writing and defense of the dissertation shall not be less than one year.
Degree grant requirement of postgraduate in our college:
Those who have completed the required course credits, passed the defense of the Thesis, and met the conditions for award can be granted the corresponding master's degree, which shall be implemented in accordance with the Rules for the Implementation of Master's Degree Award of Hubei Normal University.
