Hubei Normal University Lauds CINIUU for Stellar Performance in the 4th "Chinese Bridge" Competition

Hubei Normal University is elated to celebrate the remarkable triumphs of the Confucius Institute for Northern Ireland at Ulster University in the 4th ‘Chinese Bridge’ Chinese Show for Primary School Students 2024 UK Regional Final. This prestigious event, conducted virtually on June 27, 2024, showcased the talents of students from Northern Ireland who excelled in Chinese language proficiency and cultural skills under the mentorship of their devoted teachers.

 

The competition, meticulously prepared over three months, drew participation from the entire United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It featured 110 entries from 54 schools and engaged over 500 contestants. The Chinese teachers from CINIUU adeptly led their students to victory in both the children's and youth categories, securing top honors that included first and second places in the children's group, as well as one-second place and two joint third places in the youth group.

 

Award Highlights:

• Children's Group Performance:

• First Place: Where Are My Friends? by St Teresa's PS, orchestrated by Teacher Liu Keke.

• Second Place: Gardening + Listen to Mom by Stranmillis PS, conducted by Teacher Wang Xiaoshuo.

 

• Youth Group Performance:

• Second Place: Internet Slang by Holy Evangelists' PS, captained by Teacher Yan Na.

• Third Place (Tied): A Spring Morning by Millburn PS, supervised by Teacher Zhang Xiaoxiao.

• Third Place (Tied): Half Verses on Learning Chinese by St Therese of Lisieux PS, managed by Teacher Ma Linna.

 

The competition was divided into two main categories: Chinese language skills, including recitation or reading of nursery rhymes, poems, stories, short plays, stand-up comedy, and calligraphy; and Chinese cultural skills, encompassing singing, Chinese instrumental music, martial arts, and painting.
