Two Decades of Building Cultural Bridges, Countless Works Celebrating Shared Achievements

The year 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute brand. Around the world, Confucius Institutes and Classrooms have organized a wide range of activities and actively contributed articles and videos via platforms such as the Confucius Institute WeChat official account and Douyin (TikTok) account, sharing inspiring stories and showcasing achievements in cultural exchange to celebrate this significant milestone. To recognize institutions that have made outstanding contributions to enhancing the brand influence of Confucius Institutes, the China International Chinese Education Foundation evaluated submissions based on factors such as quantity, acceptance rate, and content originality, selecting 61 2024 Outstanding Communicating Confucius Institutes from 496 Confucius Institutes and 757 Confucius Classrooms worldwide. 

Our Confucius Institute in Northern Ireland earned this honor through high-quality media contributions and innovative cultural exchange initiatives. Over the past year, the institute has showcased the fruitful outcomes of Chinese language education and cultural exchange in Northern Ireland, UK, through vivid written reports, video documentaries, and online events, building a solid bridge for deepening mutual understanding between China and the UK. 

This award not only recognizes the hard work of our Confucius Institute team but also highlights its leading role in cross-cultural communication. Moving forward, the institute will continue to use language as a bond and culture as a platform, writing new chapters in advancing the high-quality development of international Chinese education. 

Established in 2011 through a partnership between our university and Ulster University in the UK, CINIUU has been dedicated to Chinese language teaching, teacher training, and cultural promotion. It has previously received honors such as Global Advanced Confucius Institute and HSK Outstanding Test Center.
