Recently, the Ministry of Education officially approved the undergraduate cooperative education program in Artificial Intelligence between Hubei Normal University and Bellevue University (USA), with the approval certificate number MOE42US2A20252646N. As the second undergraduate Sino-foreign cooperative education program approved by the university, this program marks a new milestone in the university's global engagement and the level of its internationalized education.

Bellevue University is among the first batch of American universities recognized by the Ministry of Education of China and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). It emphasizes teaching practice and the cultivation of application-oriented talents. In the field of AI education, particularly regarding applied practice and ethical standards, the university holds distinct strengths. Its curriculum covers cutting-edge areas such as Generative AI and AI Agents, dedicated to fostering students' technical application capabilities and critical thinking, thereby offering valuable international educational resources and academic platforms for this joint program.
This initiative represents a significant move by the university to serve the national AI development strategy and optimize its disciplinary structure. Adhering to the concept of Sino-foreign integration and complementary advantages, the core courses will be co-taught by faculty from both universities. By deeply integrating Hubei Normal University’s characteristics in the educational applications of AI with Bellevue University’s strengths in practical AI instruction, the program forms a training model characterized by Interdisciplinary Studies + Global Empowerment. Adopting a 3+1 dual-degree model, students who complete the curriculum and meet all requirements will be awarded a graduation certificate and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Hubei Normal University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University.
